Additional Information | Dr. Beach is a senior clinician in the division and mentors fellows in the oncology continuity clinics. She has provided invaluable career and personal mentorship and served as a role model of expert, compassionate care to the faculty and fellows.
Dr. Beach was a founder of the George Mark Children’s House, the first free-standing home for palliation and respite for children in the country. She served as the first medical director of the House. She also speaks locally and regionally on palliative care and additionally serves as a mentor for a palliative care rotation in the fellowship program. She is frequently consulted by the physicians in the Hematology/Oncology Division -- as well as specialists outside the division -- to provide consultation in palliative care and end-of-life care. Dr. Beach is a member of the Palliative Care Committee at BCHO.
Dr. Beach is fluent in Spanish and is the coordinating primary provider for non-English speaking Spanish pediatric oncology families. Dr. Beach has been singled out as an exceptional teacher and role model and mentor of the Fellowship Program.
